  • 1. Antonio Perrotta was born in Mar 1861 in Italy and died on 11 May 1926 in Shenango, Lawrence Co., Pennsylvania at age 65. Other names for Antonio were Tony Parrott and Antonio Perrott.

    General Notes: Arrived in NY on 12 Apr 1894 aboard the Columbia, sailing out of Genoa.

    As per death certificate, parents were Gregorio Perrott and Maria Rosso.

    Antonio married Filomena Rossi on 12 Dec 1891 in Lawrence Co., Pennsylvania. Filomena was born in Mar 1864 in Italy and died in 1939 in Lawrence Co., Pennsylvania at age 75. Another name for Filomena was Philomena Perrottti.

    General Notes: Louis Parrott, 73, of 207 Warner Alley was dead on arrival at St. Francis Hospital at 1:55 a.m. today after an apparent heart attack.

    He was born July 6, 1897 in New Castle to the late Anthony and Philomena Ross Parrott. He was retired from the American Bridge Co. in Ambridge. Mr. Parrott was a member of the St. Vitus Church; the Casa Savoia Society and a former member of the Red Coat Band.

    He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Gates, whom he married March 25, 1915; two sons, Anthony P. and Frank J. of New Castle; three daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Philomena) DeFiore, Mrs. Frank (Rose) Alfera and Mrs. Bernard (Agnes) Sherbak of New Castle; 12 grandchilren; and eight great grandchildren.

    Friends will be received at the Edward A. DeCarbo Funeral Home, S. Mill and E. Lutton streets from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. The Funeral Mass will be sung at 9 a.m. Friday in St. Vitus Church by the Rev. Msgr. Joseph Fabbri. The procession will leave the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. for the church. Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.

    General Notes: Rose Marie Alfera, 98, formerly of Beckford Street, where she lived with her son and daughter-in-law, passed away the morning of Sept. 14, 2018, at the Haven Convalescent Home. Born in New Castle on March 22, 1920, Rose was the daughter of the late Louis and Mary Gates Parrott. Preceding her in death is her husband, Frank Alfera Sr., whom she married on April 14, 1945.

    Rose was a member of St. Vitus Church. She enjoyed playing Bingo, baking and canning. Rose was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and cherished the times she spent with her family.

    She is survived by her two sons, Frank Alfera Jr. and his wife, Candise, of New Castle, Dennis Alfera and his wife, Donna, of Connecticut; her sister, Agnes Sherbak of New Castle; her five grandchildren, Nicholas and wife, Allyson, Alfera, Christopher Alfera, Emily Rose Alfera, Amy Beth Alfera, Jason Michael and wife, Anna, Alfera; and four great-grandchildren.

    In addition to her parents and husband, Rose is preceded in death by her sister, Philomena DeFiore; two brothers, Anthony Parrott, Frank Parrott; and twin infant great-grandsons.

    Visitation is Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Vitus Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., officiated by Rev. Father Frank Almade.

    Burial will take place at St. Vitus Cemetery.

    Agnes married Bernard Leonard Sherbak on 18 Oct 1947 in New Castle, Lawrence Co., Pennsylvania. Bernard was born on 5 Mar 1924 in New Castle, Lawrence Co., Pennsylvania and died on 2 Mar 2012 at age 87.

    Marriage Notes: Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Sherbak nee Agnes M. Parrott, have returned from a week's honeymoon in Washington, D.C. and New York, N.Y., and have taken up residence with the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Parrott, R.D. 8.     General Notes: Bernard L. Sherbak, 87, of 2113 Martha St., passed away the morning of March 2, 2012, in Jameson Hospital North.

    Born March 5, 1924, in New Castle to the late Michael and Helen Koshan Sherbak, Bernard married the former Agnes M. Parrott. They were married for 64 years. She survives in New Castle.

    Bernard was Roman Catholic and a former member of St. Michael Church. He worked at Johnson Bronze Co. for 37 years as a brick layer. Bernard also worked at West Penn Steel Fabricating for eight years.

    Mr. Sherbak was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving from Aug. 4, 1943, until his honorable discharge on April 20, 1946. Bernard held the rank of Machinist Mate 3rd class and served on the USS. Daniel T. Griffin.

    Bernard received the European Theater Ribbon, Pacific Theater Ribbon with 2 Stars, American Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal and Philippine Liberation Ribbon.

    He was a 1942 graduate of Shenango High School. Bernard was a member and past officer of the Slovak Club. He was a proud member of the South New Castle Borough Volunteer Fire Department and the last of the original charter members of the fire department. He was also a member of the South Hills Athletic Association.

    Mr. Sherbak was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He enjoyed all the Pittsburgh sports teams and loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

    In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Judy A. (Paul) Bruno, of New Castle and Susan J. (Michael) Dorney, of Lowelville; five grandchildren, Matthew (Sarah) Bruno, Andy Bruno, Steve (Lauren) Bruno, Benjamin Dorney and Caitlin Dorney; and seven great-grandchildren, Callie, Ashlyn, Sean, Mark, Luke, Zoey and Keira.

    Bernard was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Joseph, Paul, Michael, John and Steve Sherbak; and two sisters, Helen Fracul and Mary Christine.

    Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2012, at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 S. Mill St.

    The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct a Military Service at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

    Anthony married Eleanor D. Barbarowicz in Jun 1940. Eleanor was born on 15 Oct 1918 in New Castle, Lawrence Co., Pennsylvania and died on 6 Mar 2012 in New Castle, Lawrence Co., Pennsylvania at age 93.

    General Notes: Eleanor D. Parrott, 93, of 520 Friendship St. passed away the night of March 6, 2012, at Jameson Hospital.

    Born Oct. 15, 1918, in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late Pawel and Michaelina Kisela Barbarowicz. Eleanor married Anthony P. Parrott in June 1940. They were married for 52 years until his death on Dec. 25, 1992.

    Eleanor was a loving homemaker for her husband and children. She was a member of the AARP. Eleanor enjoyed bingo, sewing and crochetting, baking and cooking for her family. She loved to collect clowns. Her collection consisted of over 400 different clowns acquired over the years.

    Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Anthony L. (Jeri Ann) Parrott of Portersville; a daughter and son-in-law, Lucille (Everett) Culpepper of Homosassa, Fla; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

    In addition to her parents and husband; she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Barbarowicz and William Barbarowicz; a sister, Evelyn Tencer; a daughter, Bonita McIntyre; and a grandson, Joseph McIntyre.

    Calling hours are 3 to 7 p.m. March 11 at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 S. Mill Street.

    General Notes: Frances J. Parrott, 90, of Golden Hill Nursing Home, 520 Friendship St., formerly of Vista South Apartments, passed away the morning of Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at Jameson Hospital.

    Born Jan. 15, 1921, in New Castle, Frances was a daughter of the late Antonio and Carmina Ginnochi Cipriano. She was married to Frank J. Parrott for 45 years. He preceded her in death on May 20, 1991.

    Mrs. Parrott was Roman Catholic and a member of St. Vitus Church.

    She worked at Giant Eagle as a decorator for three years and at the former Gustav's Bakery for 10 years. Frances was a loving homemaker for her husband and children.

    Frances was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1938. She enjoyed bowling, bingo and cooking for her family. Frances was a self-taught seamstress. She also loved going to Bible study and arranging flowers.

    Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Louis A. Parrott and Bernie of Warren, Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law, Marlene A. Pacelli and Gregory of New Castle; four sisters-in-law, Rose Alfera, Agnes Sherbak, Eleanor Parrott and Sue Cipriano, all of New Castle; four grandchildren, Leigh Michalojko and husband Josh, of Sarasota, Fla., Diana Caminiti and husband Marc of New Castle, Dr. Louis Parrott and wife, Dr. Suzanne Newman of Summit, N.J. and Dr. Dominic Parrott and wife, Dr. Tonia Parrott of Atlanta, Ga.; and three great-grandchildren, Holly and Aggie Parrott of Summit, N.J. and Olivia Caminiti of New Castle;

    General Notes: Anthony Lawrence "Tony" Parrott, 71, of Portersville, PA passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Passavant Community in Zelienople, PA. He was born on October 10, 1949 in New Castle, PA to Anthony Paul Parrott and Eleanor (Barbarowitz) Parrott. Tony graduated from New Castle High School in 1967. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
    After his military career, he went onto work for the Pennsylvania State Game Land Commission, serving as a Game Land Manager for 35 years, and Deputy Game Warden for 37 years. He retired in 2006. Tony enjoyed life. On October 15, 1978, he married Jeri Ann Fisher. Together, they raised three sons, Anthony, Chadrick and Nicholas. Besides spending time with his family, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was a member of Leesburg ECO Presbyterian Church. Tony is survived by his wife, Jeri; 3 sons, Anthony Gerald (Jolene Wolfe) Parrott of Portersville, PA; Chadrick William (Kara) Parrott of Uhrichsville, OH; and Nicholas Raymond Parrott of New Castle, PA; 2 grandchildren, Geno and Nicolina

    She enjoyed spending time with her family and in particular her grandchildren.

    She married Anthony Lawrence Parrott on Oct. 15, 1978, and he recently preceded her in death on May 25, 2021.
    She attended Leesburg ECO Presbyterian Church.
    Survivors include her sons, Anthony Gerald "T.J." (Jolene Wolfe) Parrott of New Castle; Chadrick William (Kara Lape) Parrott of Uhrichville, Ohio; and Nicholas Raymond Parrott; grandchildren, Geno Anthony and Nicolina Leanne Parrott of New Castle; sisters, Linda (Paul) Addison of Greenville;
    Ellen (Don) Miller of Grove City; Lori Fisher of Volant; and Julie Mayberry of New Castle; and brothers, Edward (Bobbie Jo) Fisher of New Castle and Calvin (Terri) Fisher of Grove City.
